Winter Holiday 2016 – Beijing

The first part of my winter journey this year was a 2-hour train ride to Beijing. This was only the second time that I’ve ever taken first class (because all other tickets are sold out) and it was nice. I traveled with Beth, Jenny, and Ryan. Once in Beijing, we visited the Forbidden City and the temple that overlooks it from a hill before dinner. Then the next day I went to hang out with my old Spanish students who had graduated and found jobs in Beijing. I spent dinner with some of them, and then met the rest of them the next day for lunch and some afternoon coffee. I was so glad to be able to reunite with them for a short time!
